On placement I have recently been assigned the task of demonstrating to a client how a simple perspex logo would fit to a ceiling surface. A cable system was required, and the depth of the logo letters needed to be deep enough to be house to a lighting system. Each individual letter connected to a back panel to limit the number of cables needed. This also enhanced the visual appearance of the unit.
This job gave me the opportunity to test a wide variety of my computer skills, including SketchUp Pro, AutoCAD, and 3D Studio Max. Liasing with architect firm Mather and Co (Manchester) for design approval was also beneficial as I acted as a translator between designer (Mather and Co) and shopfitter (Retail Store Development).
